Amour du Christ Church holds to the foundational truths of the Christian faith as expressed in Scripture and affirmed throughout church history. Our beliefs are grounded in the Word of God and are consistent with the Statement of Faith of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA).

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Bible — the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments; is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. The Holy Spirit moved holy men of God to write, preserving them from all error. Scripture is God-breathed and is sufficient, complete, and authoritative for every area of life.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

THE TRIUNE GOD
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each fully God, co-equal and co-eternal. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, holy, sovereign, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He is perfectly loving, righteous, and just, and His purposes and plans will never fail.
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh through the virgin birth. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and willingly died on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for the sins of all humanity. He rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in glory. He is the only mediator between God and humanity, and salvation is found in no one else.
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people."

THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates and indwells every believer at salvation, and empowers the Church for godly living and witness. The Spirit illuminates Scripture, produces the fruit of Christlike character, and distributes spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. He is our Comforter, Guide, and Seal of redemption.

HUMANITY & SIN
We believe that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God, with inherent dignity and worth. Through the disobedience of Adam, all people have fallen into sin and are by nature spiritually dead, separated from God, and unable to save themselves. Every person stands in need of God's grace and the redemption found only in Jesus Christ.

SALVATION
We believe that salvation is entirely by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works, merit, or human effort. Repentance and faith are the response God calls every person to make. Those who receive Christ are born again, justified before God, and adopted into His family. Salvation is eternally secure for all who truly believe, for it rests on God's faithfulness, not our own.

THE CHURCH
We believe in the universal Church: the body of Christ, composed of all true believers across every tribe, tongue, and nation. The local church is the visible expression of this body: a community of redeemed people called to worship God, build one another up in faith, and proclaim the Gospel to the world. Christ is the head of the Church, and every believer is called to active participation in its life and mission.

THE ORDINANCES
We believe Christ has ordained two sacraments for the Church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is the outward declaration of an inward transformation; a public profession of faith in Christ and identification with His death and resurrection. The Lord's Supper is a memorial of Christ's sacrifice, a proclamation of His death until He comes, and a participation in the community of His body.

JUSTIFICATION
We believe that all who are born again are called to a life of ongoing sanctification: growing in holiness, conforming more and more to the image of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Sanctification is both a position (we are set apart in Christ) and a process (we are being made holy day by day). We are called to pursue holiness in all areas of life: character, conduct, and community.

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

THE RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe in the personal, visible, and bodily return of Jesus Christ. His coming is the blessed hope of the Church: the culmination of history and the fulfillment of all God's promises. At His return, the dead in Christ will be raised, the living will be transformed, and Christ will reign in righteousness and peace. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God..."
